Catalina is an international PhD student at the University of Cambridge, where she is completing her thesis in Children’s Literature. Originally from Chile, she is bilingual and is always happy to communicate in either English or Spanish.

In her free time, Catalina enjoys embroidery - preferably with an audiobook playing in the background — as well as puzzle and sudoku books and learning Mandarin. She has a wonderfully calm nature and loves quieter, creative hobbies almost as much as she loves spending time with animals.

Catalina grew up surrounded by pets and has more than a decade of experience caring for cats and dogs. She began cat sitting at the age of eighteen and has since looked after many pets through personal recommendations and referrals. Before moving to the UK, she also volunteered with animal rescue organisations in Chile, helping with campaigns for cats and dogs in need and occasionally fostering rescued animals.

She has a particular soft spot for cats and has her own much-loved orange cat, Rexa, who is currently being cared for by her family in Chile while she completes her studies. Catalina understands that every pet has their own routines, preferences and personality, and takes great care to follow all instructions regarding feeding, medication, grooming, play and general care.

Calm, attentive and highly reliable, Catalina’s priority is always to help pets feel safe, comfortable and well cared for while their owners are away. She feels extremely fortunate to be part of The Cambridge Catsitter team and looks forward to meeting many more wonderful pets and their families.
