KAte
Kate has grown up around Stamford and has always been surrounded by animals, having owned both cats and dogs throughout her life. Her love for animals started from a young age and has naturally developed into years of hands-on pet care experience with a wide variety of pets, including cats, dogs, birds and even lizards. Alongside personal experience, she has also worked in a small local cattery, giving her additional experience caring for pets with different personalities, routines and needs.
She is a calm, confident and intuitive animal carer who believes every pet is completely individual. Kate has experience working with nervous rescue animals and understands the importance of patience, consistency and building trust at the pet’s own pace. Whether it’s befriending a shy or feisty cat, helping an anxious rescue dog settle, or keeping energetic puppies entertained, she naturally adapts her approach to suit each animal. She has cared for puppies from as young as 8 weeks old, kittens just a few days old, as well as senior pets who may need a little extra care and attention. Kate is also comfortable administering medication and supporting pets with additional needs.
Outside of pet care, Kate is a very creative person and previously studied drama, something she feels helped build both her confidence and communication skills. These days, she channels her creativity into crafts and enjoys spending her free time making things and exploring new hobbies. She is also a huge reader and especially loves thrillers, although she’s recently started venturing more into fantasy books too. This year, she has set herself the challenge of reading 35 books!
Looking ahead, Kate is hoping to study physiotherapy at university following some recent life experiences that inspired her interest in the field. Her caring nature, calm personality and genuine love for animals make her a wonderful addition to The Stamford Catsitter team.
